Juan Williams Goes Rogue

Photo of FOX News Analyst Juan Williams taken from  mediadecoder.blog.nytimes.com

From the mouth of Juan Williams, FOX News analyst and in-house negro comes a morsel of truth. While critiquing the current crop of Republican presidential wannabees on FOX News Sunday, Williams stealthily assessed the prospects of the often discussed forerunner, half-term Alaskan Governor, Sarah Palin. Palin, a tea party favorite, is undeclared and waiting on a message from God to determine whether she makes a run for President in 2012. It's not a matter of if she runs but when she runs, seriously she's just waiting for the right time to announce.

Until now, I thought Williams was squarely on Team Sarah having gushed over her earlier this year by calling her a “centerfold”, I guess I was wrong. I don’t know if he was going rogue or not but he said, "There is nobody out there except for Sarah Palin who could absolutely dominate the stage and she can't stand on the intellectual stage with Obama." Yes, Juan took it there. I have been waiting for one of these political pundits to honestly acknowledge this fact for years! The rest of the FOX News panel “oohed” like cowards at a schoolyard fight.

No truer words about Sarah Palin’s lack of intellect have ever been spoken. I have long since hoped that she would disappear into the Alaskan wilderness but she seems to be everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Of course she’s playing coy now about her Presidential aspirations; she’s got a reality show and has made a photo-op humanitarian visit to the very poor but joyful black people of Haiti which will no doubt boost her foreign policy cred.

Between her book signings and crackerjack political commentary on FOX News, Palin still has time to bash the Obamas (Barack and Michelle). This chick has a market on small-mindedness, if only she devoted that time and energy into raising her children and being the housewife that she claims.

WikiLeaks, Ho-hum

Poor Hillary Clinton. She has gone on some world tour to do some damage control over those U.S. Embassy documents leaked by WikiLeaks earlier this week. She has claimed the leaks "tear at the fabric" of government but what they really do is pull back the curtain on our foreign policy. Though none of the information is classified, it does expose our foreign policy for what it is...duplicitous. No one should be surprised about that.

Though I have only read a few of these documents, I found many of the communiques written by various diplomats and Embassy personnel amusing, scary and downright catty. In the role of cattiness, Miss Hillary reigns supreme. She questions the mental health of Argentina's president, Cristina Kirchner and wonders how she handles stress and if she is taking any tranquilizers, all in the name of diplomacy. Very embarrassing indeed.

From what I've been able to gather, the observations that came out of these leaked documents is more telling about U.S. foreign policy than anything else. Having the U.S. as your ally is like having a shallow best friend; you think you have all of these things in common and later find out from someone else that they were saying disparaging things behind your back. You might be hurt when you first hear about it,  but you later learn not to invest too much into the friendship because it is one of convenience; you use them, they use you.

So we now know more about our foreign policy than we probably should, but does the average American really care? I seriously doubt it and believe all they hype is much ado about nothing. WikiLeaks founder Julian Assagne should be watching his back for good reason. I clearly expect something unfortunate to happen to him, Interpol currently has a warrant out for his arrest on rape charges. This probably won't be the end of it either, for him there will be consequences and repercussions; he will likely replace Osama bin Laden (remember him?) on our most wanted list.
