While his Holiness is concerned about the traditional roles of men and women, what about the role homosexuality has played within the Roman Catholic Church? At one time, the church was a breeding ground for homsexuality. What about the pedophilia? I haven't heard him pontificate much about the victims of sexual abuse at the hands of Roman Catholic Priests.
In 2005, the Pope dispatched his inspectors to seminaries to ask "Is there evidence of homosexuality in the seminary?" I'm not sure what he found out but most of us could have answered this question for him. While the Pope wants to save humanity, he believes protecting the rest of us from the evil that is homosexuality is just as important as saving the rainforest. It's unfortunate that the Catholic Church didn't take such a tough stance on those child molesting preists.
While the Catholic Church has acknowledged that homosexual behavior is evil, what could be more evil than being complicit in the sexual abuse of children? The church hierarchy chose to relocate the predator priests, ignore the victims and deny the sexual abuse claims. Now we're supposed to be impressed that the church is interested in saving mankind from destruction. While there are many threats to mankind, homosexuality is the least of them. Too bad the Pope doesn't think so.

The police conducted a surprise search on suspended New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress' home last night. Aside from the mini arsenal of weapons: a 9mm handgun, a 30.06 calibre rifle and ammunition and a clip for a .45 gun, the investigators also found the bloody clothes and shoes from that accidental shooting incident last month.
It seems laundry day had not come to the Burress home, so the blood stained jeans and shoes he was wearing when he accidentally shot himself were collected along with the weapons. Why Plaxico didn't throw the bloody stuff away or at least wash them will not be one of life's great mysteries but only confirms his status at the back of the lines for both brains and common sense. Pure dumbassness indeed.
Without knowing very much about Plaxico and his unregistered weapons, he has already fit the dumb black athlete stereotype perfectly. He's already squandered his NFL career by doing some stupid shit and now he's out of job and a $1 million dollar bonus. Real friends don't let you do stupid stuff, Plaxico!
So what's up with all the guns and ammo anyway? I haven't the slightest idea but Morris O'Kelly, a nationally syndicated columnist breaks it down in his column here. In the meantime, I'm certain there will be more news about Plaxico forthcoming, this story is far from over but unfortunately it's something we've all heard before. It can only get worse.

Oh hell to the naw! A new website has popped up to corral all of those disgruntled Sarah Palin supporters. Sarah in 2012!? *sticks fingers in ears* It's called Team Sarah and it's dedicated to advancing the values that Sarah Palin represents in the political process. *crickets chirping* I'm wondering what those are!?
The website has an enviable membership roster that includes those who are fighting to prove that Barack Hussein Obama is not a natural born citizen (The People vs. Barack Obama), those who chose not to watch the inauaguration festivities on January 20th (Volunteer for America on Inauguration Day) and those who are praying for Sarah and her amazing family and praying that god will open the door for her in 2012 (Prayers for Sarah). Scary stuff indeed. The site borders on being just plain creepy.
I bet you're wondering what values Sarah Palin represents, well me too. Here's what the website says:
As many of you know, Team Sarah is a project of the Susan B. Anthony List,anWhile I am not doubting Palin has backbone, determination and a healthy dose of confidence. I would not equate her with Susan B. Anthony. Up until about five minutes ago, none of these people had even heard of Sarah Palin and now they are worshipping her for the hate-mongering, double-talking dimwit that she is.
organization founded in 1992 and named after the suffragette who fought
forwomen's rights and against slavery. Susan B. Anthony possessed the core
valuesand convictions that embraced all human rights and human dignity.
She stood up for rights for slaves, women, and unborn children. She lived out her values consistently, as does Sarah Palin.
She lived with backbone and determination and confidence. So does Sarah Palin.
Creepy stuff indeed. I'm going to let that slavery foolishness slide for now because it is totally irrelevant. Sarah Palin's fifteen minutes are now officially up.

“The days of looking the other way while despotic regimes trample human rights, rob their nations' wealth, and then excuse their failings by feeding their people a steady diet of anti-Western hatred are over.”
All we need to do is change anti-Western to anti-Islamic and he's described the past eight years of the Bush-Cheney policies. Our human rights have been trampled and whatever wealth we've accumulated has evaporated under the cloud of deregulation. Thanks, Dick.

You shouldn't be surprised that I stumbled across Asa by listening to French radio. As it turns out, her music has not been released in the US yet and she is already a hit in Europe. Her CD was voted one of the year's best by The World, a public radio program. Is it any surprise that some of the best music never makes to US radio?

"I will never, never, never surrender. Zimbabwe is mine, I am a Zimbabwean.
Zimbabwe for Zimbabweans."
That's the problem with Bob and most of the leaders of African countries. They get elected President and the country becomes their own personal fiefdom to rule as they see fit. They have no regard for human rights, the suffering of others or their own people. All of this in spite of democratic elections and other pretensions. They quickly set their sights on getting rich and richer.
The country's treasury usually becomes their own personal ATM, so most of the aid sent by well-meaning organizations like the International Monetary Fund (IMF) gets lifted before it can be used for it's designated purpose. The no-strings attached aid from international aid organizations and Western countries to African countries has got to stop. For once, African leaders need to put their people and country first instead of their greedy selves.
According to Transparency International's chairman, Huguette Labelle, in the poorest countries, corruption levels can mean the difference between life and death, when money for hospitals or clean water is in play. TI goes on to say that continuing high levels of corruption and poverty plaguing many societies is creating a humanitarian disaster that cannot be tolerated. As true as this may be, who is going to speak for the masses?
In Zimbabwe, life is extremely hard and people are hungry and desperate. The suffering is unfathomable. To add insult to injury, the average Zimbabwean can't afford a loaf of bread, prices rise daily with an inflation rate that is a mind-boggling, 2,300,000%. They are desperately short of food, health care, clean water and safe sanitation.
Oxfam reports that cholera, a water-borne disease, has surged in Zimbabwe due to the breakdown of city sewerage systems, poor maintenance of water supply systems including hand pumps, severe drinking water shortages, and the lack of basic hygiene items such as soap. When news of the outbreak was first reported weeks ago, Bob said it was under control. Then he said it was introduced by Western forces as germ warfare against his country and people. Enough already!
So yes, Bob, Zimbabwe is yours, you've officially run it into the ground, so now what? It is easy to blame the West, your official boogeyman, but what are you going to do to alleviate the suffering and misery of your own people?

Outgoing President George W. Bush showed some agility at a press conference today with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. Looks like his visit to Iraq wasn't the only surprise. Muntadar al-Zeidi, an angry Iraqi journalist threw not one of his shoes but both at W. while shouting "This is a goodbye kiss, you dog." Loves it! I'm only jealous I didn't get to do it first.

Just the other day, he was on television vehemently denying any involvement in a "pay-for-play" scheme. I wasn't swayed. In my small mind it's guilt by association, he is the son of "Messy" Jesse Jackson, the self-appointed leader of black people and self-interested corporate shakedown artist. Jackson Sr. has made a career out of crying racism at corporate America which has netted him and his associates some plum positions within those corporations. This ploy has worked particularly well with Anheuser-Busch, he was able to secure a lucrative distributorship in Chicago for his other two sons, Jonathan and Yusef. So given this and Jackson Sr.'s shady dealings, it wouldn't be outlandish to suggest that JJJ would be involved in a "pay-for-play" scheme to secure the U.S. Senate seat.
At this point, he is denying any knowledge of the $1 million fundraiser that was held by his supporters for Governor Blagojevich. I doubt that it is coincidental. Looks like he was trying to buy a Senate seat to me. For me, that dishonest smirk on his face says it all but I'm skeptical of most things. We are talking about Chicago politicians and if Blagojevich represents the most corrupt, then there are certainly other politicans who are less corrupt and not corrupt at all.
Okay JJJ, how could you not know your biggest supporters were holding a $1 million fundraiser for Blagojevich? Unless you were deaf, dumb and blind, it's highly unlikely. I believe JJJ wanted that Senate seat as much as Blagojevich wanted to sell it but like everyone else, I'll wait to see how this political drama spins out.

- Attacks on Mumbai
Okay, the attackers disrupted the city with their selective attacks on symbols of Western culture, five star hotels, Americans, Brits and Jews but to what end? We already know these Muslim nihilists are angry and miserable but must they terrorize the rest of us?
I'd really like to see these guys and gals get together on some isolated island so they can blow themselves up and leave the rest of us the hell alone. No paradise and 99 1/2 virgins for these infidels, they should just go straight to hell.
- Plaxico Burress
First of all, who names a child Plaxico!? I wish black people would stop giving their children ridiculous names and wondering why they do stupid shit like shooting themselves with their own unregistered gun.
- Naming your child Dalcapone Alpaccino Morris
Yes, that's his real name. See what I wrote about Plaxico above. Looks like someone watched 'Scarface' one too many times and thought it would be cute to name their son Dalcapone Alpaccino. WTF!? Everytime I see an airbrushed oversized t-shirt of Al Pacino as Scarface my ass puckers. Okay, I'm exaggerating and being vulgar.
When will the fascination with the dumbassness that is Tony Montana (played by Al Pacino) and that stupidass movie 'Scarface' end? Is it any surprise that a child named Dalcapone would grow up to have a criminal record? I hope Dalcapone works this out because crime does not pay.
- Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State
Yes, I'm still complaining about this one. I'm very disappointed with President-elect Obama's choice. Miss Hillary is all wrong and anyone who says she would make a great Secretary of State is straight up lying. Her and her husband Bill are going to bring Obama trouble.
- Puff Daddy, P. Diddy or Diddy as the black James Bond!?
Oh, hell to the naw! When will he go away? I heard he just dropped a ridiculous sum of money making an audition tape in the South of France to convince the producers to cast him as the first black James Bond. Aaaargh!
It would help if you could act and were halfway nice looking Diddy but it ain't so! Spare us from your bathroom mirror fantasies. I know I don't care. Why not devote your time to some other endeavor that needs your attention like your growing brood of children. I think that's a great place to start.

Nigerian native Adeola Aderonunmu deconstructs the hype and tells us why they were really fighting in Jos. When I find myself rendered speechless by senseless and seemingly unexplicable violence, I must rely on the eloquence and expertise of folks like Adeola to break it down for me. Read his post here.
